Fashion Touchdown 2017 Recap – Marrone Law Firm

A Success for Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region, Event Touches Home for Longtime Member Joseph Marrone, Esquire

As a former Little Brother, Joseph Marrone now shares his success and mentoring with BBBS youth

As previously shared, Fashion Touchdown 2017, our star-studded gala benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region (BBBS Independence), was an enormous success. The fourth annual event raised over $300,000, almost doubling 2016’s donations. Players from the Philadelphia Eagles and their significant others took to the runway wearing custom Robbini Bespoke suits and Nicole Miller’s 2017 Holiday Collection.

Marrone Law Firm, LLC is incredibly proud to have been the presenting sponsor of Fashion Touchdown 2017 and assist in funding such an impactful organization. In addition to sponsoring Fashion Touchdown, our firm created a social media awareness campaign around the event which included an additional donation of $2,500.

The participating Eagles included Rodney McLeod (a Big Brother and honorary board member himself), Chris Long, Trey Burton, Brent Celek, Malcolm Jennings, Najee Goode, Jordan Hicks, Alshon Jeffery and Todd Herremans, the Eagles former offensive guard. Additional event support included shoes and men’s accessories from ToBox, neckwear and pocket squares from Malcolm Jenkin’s Rock Avenue, and Top Chef winner and local restaurateur Nick Elmi, who also sponsored the event and auctioned off a spectacular private in-home dining experience for 10 guests. Internationally celebrated designer, Nicole Miller was also present to oversee the show, mingle with guests and present her auction item which included attending the Nicole Miller show at New York Fashion Week and a private tour of her Manhattan showroom given by Nicole, herself.

A Personal Journey for Joseph M. Marrone

Joseph M. Marrone, Esquire of Marrone Law Firm, LLC, has long championed the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region. A native of Philadelphia, Marrone has been part of Big Brothers Big Sisters for more than half of his life. For him, it is a personal journey which has come full circle. He has seen first-hand the positive effects BBBS has had on his own life by way of mentoring his Little Brother of 26 years, Brian D. Marchese who is now an attorney at Joe’s firm. His incredible history with this organization is why he believes the powerful connections fostered by BBBS are “what this organization is all about and why it is imperative to raise the dollars necessary to further the organization and further its mission.”

In 2017, in recognition of his tremendous support, outreach efforts and history with BBBS, Marrone was selected to become a member of its Governing Board of Directors. His compassionate and dedicated work with the organization and vast leadership experience significantly contributes to assisting children in reaching their potential through empowerment and positive mentorship.

Changing Lives Every Day

The funds raised by Fashion Touchdown enable BBBS to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better. BBBS Independence currently serves nearly 4,000 children annually, but has more than 1,200 children waiting for mentors of their own. Proceeds from Fashion Touchdown will help positively impact many more lives across the region.

BBBS Independence is a donor-supported organization that enriches, encourages and empowers children to reach their highest potential through safe, one-to-one mentoring relationships. For more than 100 years, BBBS has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Volunteering as a Big Brother or Big Sister is about making a measurable difference in a child’s life by sharing new perspectives and experiences. Serving Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties in Pennsylvania and Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties in New Jersey, more than 3,500 children annually are more successful socially and academically because of the work of the agency.

As one of the most successful litigation practices in the Philadelphia area, Marrone Law Firm, LLC provides vigorous, effective representation in matters ranging from personal injury and medical malpractice to real estate and criminal law.
